In May 2025, Tripoli experienced three days of sudden armed conflict, disrupting movement across the city and impacting airport access, communications, and essential services. With personnel dispersed across hotels, private residences, and unsecured locations, multiple organizations — including several not contracted with EC — required immediate assistance to safeguard their teams.

Our Response

From the onset of instability, EC activated its crisis-response framework and shifted from routine operations to full emergency posture. Leveraging our established compound, mobile support capability, and trusted network, EC acted quickly to provide life safety, mobility support, and secure shelter.

• Activated Mobile Support Teams: Our teams remained operational throughout the clashes, conducting welfare checks, delivering supplies, and escorting individuals to safety.
• Opened EC’s Tripoli compound as a secure refuge and coordination hub, providing communications access and logistical support.
• Executed emergency evacuations coordinating safe movement away from high-risk zones to departure points outside Tripoli through alternate routes.
